Frequently Asked Questions
Who can attend?
Anyone can book an appointment, you do not need to see another healthcare professional or GP first. However if you intend to seek treatment through your insurance provider then they may require you to see a doctor first in order to be triaged and therefore it's best to liaise with them first. We are registered with many of the major insurance providers.
Should I bring anything?
It would be beneficial of you could bring any information such as letters, scan reports, imaging and medication lists relating to your current injury / past medical history to help provide further information to your current problem.
What should I wear?
Physiotherapy assessment and treatment will require some level of visual and hands on examination of the body part in question and it is therefore strongly advised that for any upper limb problems that men wear a vest or you may be asked to remove your top altogether and women to wear a sports bra / strappy top. For a lower limb problem, please bring a pair of shorts with you.
How many sessions do I need?
Ultimately this will vary on the nature and severity of the condition and time scales vary person to person. Following your initial assessment we will discuss your treatment pathway, what this will entail and self management strategies.
What happens during a physiotherapy session?
This will vary person to person and again depends on the severity and nature of the injury. Treatment options will always be discussed with you prior to them being performed. Adjunctive therapies such as ultrasound and acupuncture will also be discussed with you with consent forms required for some treatments. Should you have any concerns feel free to ask.
Do you have disabled access?
Yes- the clinic is based on the bottom floor with step free access
Is there onsite parking?
The plan is to introduce this in the not too distant future, however currently there are many residential side roads that enables easy access to the clinic.
